Dr Peter Cunningham
Peter was brought up on the North Shore. He graduated from Auckland University in 1985. He joined Kitchener Rd Medical Centre in 1989 and has been a principal partner since. He did obstetrics for a number of years and was active on Shorecare’s board. Outside of work, Peter is a keen long distance runner and continues to run occasional marathons. Peter is married to Josie and father of two adult sons.
Dr Vanessa Fardon
Vanessa completed her medical degree at St Mary’s Hospital in London in 1984 and has been at Kitchener Road Medical Centre since 1990, as a Principal Partner. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice, especially Women’s Health. Outside of work Vanessa enjoys skiing, walking and cooking.
Dr Denise Watt
Denise graduated from the University of Auckland in 1983, then went on to do a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Fellowship of the Royal NZ College of General Practitioner. She covers all areas of general practice but has a particular interest in women’s health. Her interests including dancing (Ceroc and Scottish Country), crosswords and spending time with her 2 daughters.
Dr Maggie Wanty
Maggie graduated from Otago University in 1981, having done all her clinical training in Wellington. Maggie is happy to see any problems as she enjoys all aspects of General Practice. Maggie has been at Kitchener Road Medical Centre since 1995.
Dr Melissa Hunter
Melissa graduated from the University of Auckland in 2014 and she has obtained Fellowship with the Royal NZ College of General Practitioners. Melissa is happy to see any problem and age group, but particularly enjoys working with children and young adults. Outside of work, Melissa enjoys reading and spending time at the beach. Melissa is currently on Maternity Leave, returning March 2022.
Dr Zulaiha Giado
Zulaiha is a General practitioner with broad based training in internal medicine and women’s health, she also has a keen interest in tropical and travel medicine.
Zulaiha obtained her post graduate training / experience in NZ after moving as a fresh graduate to NZ. Zulaiha worked for more that 5 years at North Shore, Waitakere and Auckland hospitals as a house officer and medical registrar, which gave her a good foundation and experience in a variety of subspecialties. Zulaiha has obtained fellowship fellowship with the Royal NZ college of General practitioners.
Zulaiha believes in a patient centred approach in which she can work with her patients to promote good healthcare. Zulaiha is originally from Sri Lanka but lived in Ireland prior to moving to New Zealand. She speaks English, Sinhalese and Bengali.
